Our Rooms

Bluebells Room:

The Baby Room can hold up to 12 babies with a staff to child ratio 1:3. At Nurtureville we offer a home from home approach where we work closely with families to ensure the routine your child has at home is replicated here at nursery. We also use natural open-ended resources and are currently trying to move away from plastic toys.

We work closely with our curriculum to ensure all children get the support they need to thrive and develop here with us. Staff are trained in specifically working with babies. The key person approach is embedded and babies are given time daily for one-on-one interaction with staff members. We also establish links with both child and family to acknowledge the “trio of trust” around the child. We use simple baby signs to support with developing speech. We provide a wide selection of multi-sensory resources at floor level to encourage children to reach out and grasp or to travel towards.

The Toddler Room can hold up to 16 toddlers with a staff to child ratio 1:4.

As your child grows and is ready to move to the Toddler Room, we offer transitions days so your child can go and explore the new room with their key person from the Baby room or some of their other baby friends. This is to help them get used to the changes that will be happening. They will get to meet some new friends and the new staff in the room.

In the Toddler room children get to develop their independence further by exploring new resources and begin toilet training when they are ready too. The room is set like the baby room and children have the chance to explore whatever they wish with support from the staff in the room. At meal times children will be introduced to self-serving where they have support to serve their own food and begin to make their own preferences.

The Preschool Room can hold up to 32 children with a staff to child ratio 1:8.

As your child transitions up to the Preschool Room, they will get to explore a bigger room with more activities which will challenge them and help get them ready for school. There will be a focus on phonics and numbers daily with activities working in small groups. This helps develops listening and turn taking skills if they have not already learnt this. Your child will still be developing their independence and social skills with more opportunities.
