Here at NurtureVille we work closely with our families to support their child through their learning journey with us. We pride ourselves with working with parents to ensure our learning and development is tailored to each child individually. We do this by working closely and getting to know our families and what their child enjoys at home, we then use this to help transition the child to the setting. We then structure their learning around our curriculum to develop a child’s learning in an age and stage appropriate way.

Our overarching principles aim to help children to be:

We ensure this is happening by ensuring we build strong key person links and ensuring a smooth transition from home to setting. This is done by finding out about your child on their settles with us. We offer 3 settles but understand every child is different so we will work with you if we feel your child may need more. We will work closely with yourselves and get to know your child and their routine at home to ensure we are following this at the nursery. We also get to know what your child’s interests and likes are and reflect this in our provision, as we pride ourselves in our parent partnership.

We also like to build on your child’s interests and this is reflected in our activities we set up day by day and displayed around the room. We encourage children to access the resources at their own leisure and choose their own activity to support their independence. To also encourage a child’s independence, we like to have the children serve their own meals and snacks with support close by. Which they love to do and also help their friends if they need support too.

We support children in being sociable within the setting by having secure relationships built with their key person, this is discussed on your settles with us and the key person starts to build a relationship with your child. This helps with the transition from home to setting. We encourage children to express and discuss their needs and wants by communication or sign language.
