Loughton

Our Setting:

NurtureVille Nursery is a converted house that has been extended to offer more space and experiences for our children. We are situated in Loughton close to many local amenities. NurtureVille nursery is one of three nurseries owned by our director. NurtureVille opened in October 2018 and offers a range of sessions from full to part time care for children between the ages of 3 months to 5 years. We are open from 07:30am – 18:00pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, closing only for bank holidays and a week at Christmas. We also close two days a year for staff training.

We offer a range of sessions to help with everyone’s childcare needs this includes term time only bookings and our fees are fully inclusive meaning all meals, snacks, drinks and nappies are included.

We accept funding, please see our funding page for more information on the different funding we accept and how we use it.

We aim to provide the very best for children and try to make the transition from home to nursery a smooth one. We work hard on promoting this home from home experience which we are very proud of.

We are lucky enough to have big garden spaces and have been able to create a small nature garden area/woodland area where the children grow their own fruit and vegetables. We are also getting ready to welcome some new outdoor pets. This helps the children learn how to care for living things.

We regularly go for visits into the local community and enjoy popping along to the local shops to buy our snacks. These are all great life learning skills of learning road safety and how to use money and pay for goods at the shops. The children really enjoy this, we also get to walk up to the local field and sometimes see the animals grazing there.

In our curriculum we have our overarching principles, this is what we would like all children in our care to be learning and developing whilst with us, getting them ready for their next adventures in life. These are:

  • Children should be curious
  • Children should be independent
  • Children should be happy
  • Children should be resilient
  • Children should be sociable
  • Children should be confident

These are then broken down in depth in each room to show how we promote this in our curriculum every day. Please see our curriculum page to see how we incorporate this into our play within the nursery.

Reviews:

"Our nine-month-old started NurtureVille at the start of 2023 and so far we have been really happy with the nursery. All the staff are really happy, enthusiastic and welcoming. They go above and beyond in communicating what my baby has been up to that day. We receive updates in person, over tapestry and in her daily log book. The activities vary every day which is important to me. Activities include being outside reading books, inside playing with playdough, in a ball pit, playing with sensory toys, lights, bubbles and a lot more. The baby’s room has just undergone a refurb and feels fresh and cosy, we love that the room is carpeted! The staff have done a really good job at aligning my baby’s routine at the nursery close to what we do at home which is also very important to me and my partner. The variety of fresh food offered is also brilliant. Overall, really happy. Thanks NurtureVille team!"

"Staff focus on supporting children to be independent, confident and curious. There is a strong focus on encouraging children to develop a love of books. This is threaded well through the curriculum. For example, children visit a local community library, there is a book borrowing project where children can take books home to read with their families. Each activity is set up with books for reference. In the home corner, pre-school children can look at recipe books. Babies look at books about farms as they play with wooden animals and puppets. Their frequent walks in the local area include visits to a local field where horses live. They observe the size of the horse and the noise they make, bringing their learning to life."

"Staff show a great deal of patience and understanding of children and their needs. This is especially the case when children have SEND and find it more difficult to regulate their behaviour and emotions. Staff support children's behaviour well, giving them explanations about expectations and helping them to calm down if they feel upset and overwhelmed. Staff use effective measures, such as taking children for quiet time in a sensory tent or distracting them through singing and dancing."

"We are really pleased with the care and support provided to our son at the nursery. He has developed so much since joining and really enjoys being there every day. The staff are kind, caring, and attentive, and it's clear that he feels happy and secure in their care. We really appreciate receiving daily photos of the activities, which gives us a wonderful insight into his day and shows just how happy and engaged he is. It's lovely to see how much he learns while still having fun. He also loves the food provided, which gives us great reassurance. Overall, we are very happy with the nurturing environment and the positive experiences he is having at the nursery. Thank you very much!"

"Our daughter has just started at Nurtureville and we're so happy with our experience so far. The staff have been very kind in their approach to helping our daughter settle and she's already getting more confident + happy which is a joy to see. Staff always have time to speak to us at the start and end of the day, and clearly take an interest in how our daughter is getting on. The whole place has a lovely family feeling to it - everyone knows each other and adults knew all the children, not only the ones in their room. We're very grateful to the support so far and look forward to our daughter's coming years at Nurtureville!"

"I couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful experience my son had at this nursery. From day one, the staff made him feel safe, supported, and truly cared for. They didn't just look after him-, hey nurtured his confidence, curiosity, and social skills in ways that made a huge difference in his early development. Every day he was happy, excited, and full of smiles when he came home. The team consistently went above and beyond, creating a nurturing environment where he felt seen, encouraged, and understood. We're so thankful for the role they played in his early journey. It's clear they genuinely care about the children, and that made all the difference. Highly recommended!"

– AO (mother of child)

"The staff are welcoming and friendly. I am made too feel my child is in a safe caring environment and they have helped my child settle in and enjoy their time at nursery and I can relax knowing my child is happy and having a great time throughout the day."

Menus:

At NurtureVille we promote Healthy Eating and good oral hygiene at all times. We received a 4-star rating for our food and hygiene.
We plan our meals alongside the Government Guidance, this means we are ensuring that we are providing healthy, balanced and nutritious food at all times. This also ensure that children get the right amount of nutrients and energy they need whilst they are growing rapidly.
At Milton Keynes we have a rolling 4-week rota for our food menus that cater for all seasons. Our menus can be found on the website under the menu section and at nursery they are displayed in the front lobby as you arrive and in all the rooms for easy viewing access.
All our meals are prepared on site by our chef. At NurtureVille we offer cereals and fresh fruit for breakfast which is served from 7:30-8:30am. A hot lunch is served between 11:30-12:00pm and a light tea is served around 4:00pm. In between this we offer a mid-morning snack and mid-afternoon snack for all children. Water and milk are provided at all meals times. Every child is expected to have a water bottle on site.
We cater for all children’s dietary requirement needs so please speak to the manager at the nursery or your child’s key person so we can ensure your child’s requirements are met.
In our Sunflowers (3–4-year-olds) and Snowdrops rooms (2–3-year-olds) we promote rolling snack where children can choose when they would like snack as to avoid interrupting their play. Children are encouraged to be independent so they get to serve their own food with supervision close by for support if and when needed. This is one of the ways our over arching principles works alongside our curriculum.
Meal times are also a great time for social interactions and children get to spend time sitting and socialising with their peers and the staff within the room they are in.
If you have any questions please speak to the manager at the nursery or send us an email on here.

Animals:

As part of our curriculum which works alongside our over arching principles we promote caring for animals. At Milton Keynes we have African land snails and tropical fish. The children learn how to take care of the animals in our setting and enjoy learning how to handle the snails. We will be looking at getting some rabbits later this year and we are going to be learning how to care for chickens by watching them hatch from an egg and then learning how to care for them whilst they grow with us. This is brilliant life skills for the children to learn about growth, decay and development.

Sun Accreditation Mark:

We are pleased to share that we have achieved The Sun Accreditation Mark in September 2025.

Staff:

Our rigorous vetting process includes a DBS check for all staff and favourable and suitable references. At NurtureVille we have hardworking, dedicated and passionate staff members.
Staff at the nursery have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification or above and all hold a valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is refreshed yearly and then redone every 3 years, to keep up to date.
Staff take full advantage of the training we have to offer here at NurtureVille Nursery and have all received Level 2 Safeguarding Training as well as Food Safety and Hygiene Level 3. Staff update their training regularly using our online training platform to support them. They also attend various training throughout the year and we close for 2 training days a year for inhouse training to keep our knowledge and training up to date and relevant.
We received Millie’s Mark Accreditation in 2024 which is an exceptional achievement as it shows we are going above and beyond minimum requirements in keeping children safe within childcare settings. To find our accreditation please visit the site and search for us using our postcode (MK5 8AJ).
We support staffs’ development by encouraging them to extend their learning and achieve higher qualifications, constantly improving their knowledge and practice. We support staff in training and support them through apprenticeships here with us.
Kayley is our manager at Milton Keynes and has a wealth of knowledge of experience in childcare. Kayley has been with the nursery since 2021.
Kayley is our Designated Safeguarding Lead, if you ever have any concerns or would like to chat about anything safeguarding related please contact the setting on 01908 397400.
